NH DEBATES: Shoot me now

These guys all use the only GOP framing for Democrats, and none of it is true. How can any of these guys talk about their boogeyman of “socialized medicine”, when the American people pay their healthcare costs? Am I supposed to take them seriously on this issue?

It’s also clear that Huckabee and Giuliani have no idea how the world works, how things we do here effect other parts of the world. In fact, all of them are so incredibly insular that you have to wonder how exactly they plan on being diplomatic with other countries.

I believe these debates are way past Thompson’s bedtime. I swear every time he starts to answer he sounds like someone woke him from a disco nap.

They are all Nanny Staters. All the subjects they’ve touched on, save corporate profits, calls for the gov’t to do more, take on a bigger role in the minutae of our lives. Yet, since none of them plan on raising taxes, especially delusional Paul, you have to wonder how they plan on paying for any of this stuff.

They also speak of doing all this stuff for Americans, by Americans (I’ll assume that doesn’t include those companies that willfully ship American jobs to other countries or bring in foreign workers), but they don’t seem to understand that means boosting funds in education or social programs.

Bottom line: We have a group of ostriches that are living in 1971. Things are much more urgent now and while the GOP can have the same debates, as they certainly have since I’ve been born, they need to stop dicking around and do something. They held the majority in Congress for almost 13 years, the WH for almost 7 and not one thing positive has come out of that. Everything has been poorly designed and poorly (barely!) executed. Not any of their pet issues have been enacted. Why? Certainly not because of the cowed and spineless Democrats in the House or Senate (note that since the GOP has become the minority, they filibuster everything all the time, something that the spineless Dems said couldn’t be done.). The only thing the GOP really has going for it is their xenophobia, pro-corporatism and so-called culture war. I guess for some sheeple that’s more than enough.
